Visitor Wellbeing

Injury & Safety Policy

At Osiligi Farm, the wellbeing of our visitors, staff, animals, and community partners comes first. This policy explains the safety standards we uphold, the responsibilities we expect from every guest, and the procedures we follow if an incident occurs during your visit.

Effective Date: 18 November 2025

1. Our Commitment to Safety

We maintain a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment while recognising that a working farm involves natural and unavoidable risks.

  • Clean, secure, and clearly marked facilities with regular inspections of enclosures, equipment, and walking paths.
  • Trained staff who guide visitors through farm areas and respond to incidents with calm, informed support.
  • Scheduled safety checks plus readily available basic first-aid supplies at every public session.
  • At least one first-aid trained team member on-site during visitor hours.

2. Visitor Responsibility

Every guest plays a part in keeping the farm experience safe for themselves and others. By entering Osiligi Farm, you agree to:

  • Follow the guidance and instructions provided by Osiligi Farm staff at all times.
  • Stay within the clearly designated visitor areas and pathways.
  • Wear comfortable outdoor clothing and closed shoes appropriate for farm terrain.
  • Ensure minors remain under the supervision of a responsible adult.
  • Refrain from bringing outside pets, sharp objects, fireworks, or hazardous materials onto the property.

Failure to comply with safety instructions may result in removal from the premises without refund.

3. Acknowledgement of Risk

Farm environments include uneven terrain, tools, machinery, and natural elements that may pose inherent risks such as slips, bites, scratches, stings, or allergic reactions. By visiting Osiligi Farm, guests accept these risks and acknowledge that participation in any activity, including tours and workshops, is voluntary and undertaken at their own discretion.

4. Procedure in Case of Injury or Incident

  1. Notify a member of staff immediately so we can secure the area and respond appropriately.
  2. Our trained team will provide basic first aid or contact emergency services if required.
  3. Every incident is documented in our internal Incident Report Register for follow-up and learning.
  4. Visitors or guardians may be asked to share relevant contact details for continued care or reporting.
  5. Osiligi Farm cooperates fully with emergency responders and, where applicable, insurance providers.

5. Medical Conditions and Allergies

  • Visitors with known allergies, medical conditions, or mobility challenges are encouraged to inform staff upon arrival so we can make reasonable adjustments.
  • Osiligi Farm is not responsible for allergic reactions, injuries, or health complications arising from undisclosed conditions or failure to follow safety instructions.

6. Liability and Waiver

By entering Osiligi Farm or participating in farm activities, visitors accept the inherent risks involved in outdoor and animal-based experiences. Osiligi Farm, its owners, employees, volunteers, and contractors are not liable for injury, illness, loss, or death arising from participation except where prohibited by law. This waiver does not limit our responsibility in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

7. Indemnification

Visitors agree to indemnify and hold harmless Osiligi Farm, its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, or expenses resulting from their own negligence, conduct, or breach of safety instructions.

8. Insurance

Osiligi Farm maintains insurance cover appropriate for its operations. Visitors are encouraged to secure personal accident or medical insurance aligned with their needs, especially when participating in hands-on farm activities.
